I wanted to make a hole through a traventine tile so I go to the local home improvement store and found 1 for $39 (on sale at new reduced price from $43 !). Found this drilling tool through amazon for under $5, decided to give it a try. For $5 if it doesn't work just don't drink your starbuck the next morning. Tool is shipped from oversee and estimate to arrive in a month , 8/12/11 the earliest. Got home yesterday 7/27/11 and found the tool in my mail box. Attached to my rechargable hand drill and drilled 3 holes on the traveltine right after dinner and the tool went through smoothly. I Use very little water to cool it, still look like new. I was very happy that it did the job at only 1/8 of the cost. Excelent tool!

Used this hole cutting bit to cut a 1 1/4" hole in my granite counter-top for a disposal switch. I was concerned that the bit was not deep enough to cut through the thick counter-top, and I was correct. However, the small amount of material remaining made it easy to tap out the plug with a hammer. I used a drilled 1 1/4" wood guide before attempting to cut the counter-top since I didn't want the bit to jump and damage the counter-top. I poured water into guide hole before drilling and within a few minutes I was finished. A great deal for the price I paid and I expect this item will work well on cutting glass tile which it's designed to do. I have no idea on how many holes this bit can cut before it wears out since I only needed to drill a single hole.
