3.0 out of 5 stars OK but not great, December 24, 2010

The tool takes a lot of adjusting to strip the wire properly.
If you are doing a lot of the same wire, not too bad, but
if you are doing different coax types, pain in the neck.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good price, June 4, 2012

For a cheep cutter, it works. I had only 3 ends to fix, so I haven't used it much. But for what I've needed it for, it worked good and the price was cheep enough so I didn't feel bad to only need it for a couple of uses. It's still in my phone/cable tool box for the next use.

I needed to adjust the length of the strip, and as soon as I removed the roll pin that holds the blades (as per the instructions), one of the springs popped out. I found it, but re-installing the spring is impossible. Additionally, I couldn't get the tool to not spiral on the cable. It could be that I'm using stranded core wire, which is more flexible than solid core. If that's the case, then the tool should specify that limitation. I bought two, and returned them both. Good riddance, I'll buy a more expensive tool next time. If you don't need to adjust the length from what is set at the factory, AND you are using solid core wire, maybe this will work.
